Heading formatting in Word helps you reuse fonts, font sizes, colors, … for easy subsequent use, saving a lot of time when manipulating Word documents.
Instructions on How to Format Headings in Word 2010
Step 1: You open the text and format the heading by highlighting the line of text you want to create the heading. For example, I want to create heading 1, heading 2… I highlighted the line of text, and selected Heading 1, heading 2… on the toolbar as shown below.

Step 2: To reuse the next time you save the format you created by selecting: Page Layout–> Themes—>Save current theme…
Select the folder to save the theme
Step 3: To plan to reuse the theme you just saved, select Page layout –> Themes–>Browes for theme
Navigate to the folder you saved and open the formatted text you saved
Result:
You can choose from a variety of available word heading formatting styles to use, by selecting Pages Layout — > Themes –> choosing the type of theme you need to format, when you hover over the themes , and your text formatting changes as well.
